The Monologue Competition at YouthFest 2025 is your chance to step into the spotlight and showcase your talent! Whether you're performing, supporting your friends, or soaking in the experience, this exciting event is an incredible opportunity to sharpen your skills and gain confidence on stage.
Participants will perform solo, receive constructive feedback from an expert adjudicator, and build connections with fellow young actors. The competition is open to YouthFest attendees ages 12-18, and the winner will take home a $100 prize!
Monologues must be memorized and come from a published play by an established writer or from a script submitted to a playwriting competition. Performers may choose a dramatic or comedic piece, but the length should not exceed two minutes. Props, costumes, and effects are not permitted.
Preliminary rounds will take place on Monday, June 23, with finalists advancing to the final round. Winners will be announced at the YouthFest closing celebration.
To enter, register for the YouthFest Monologue Competition when signing up for the festival or visit the registration desk during the event. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged! The entry fee is $15.
