Climate Theatre Hub
Theatre and Climate Change
Theater is a powerful force for reflection, connection, and change. You can bring that power to one of the biggest challenges of our time: climate change. Communities across the country are more concerned about the climate than you might think.
They want to take action, and they’re looking for spaces to talk about it. Whether it’s through the stories you tell on stage, the conversations you spark in the lobby, or the choices you make behind the scenes, theater can inspire audiences and communities to engage with climate solutions.
This hub is here to help you explore ways to bring climate into your work, both on and off stage. Let’s use the power of storytelling to ignite action!
"Climate at the Dinner Table" Skit Kit

This toolkit was designed to help groups use performance to spark productive conversations about climate change. It provides you with the resources to stage a skit that makes talking about climate change both fun and successful. It’s designed for people who want to take the drama out of climate conversations and, instead, put it on the stage! The skit takes a playful and humorous approach to explore and model how to have conversations about climate change.
Set around the Thanksgiving dinner table, the characters dramatically fail, then heartwarmingly succeed in talking about climate change with family. Rife with colorful characters, family drama, and familiar tropes, this skit will make you laugh while you learn we share more common ground than you think.
Climate Ambassador Training

Ambassadors are trained to speak with others and inspire climate action. Equipped with customizable presentations, resources, ongoing training, and support, they give talks and invite others in, in their theaters, schools, communities, and beyond.
Ambassadors will be equipped to engage audiences in an informed discussion of climate solutions and the benefits those solutions deliver to local communities. The training is the perfect accompaniment to climate-themed performances that you are producing.
