We are seeking interns to join us for our 98th Season. The Kalamazoo Civic Theatre has a one-of-a-kind Intern Program, which dates back to 1945. Interns gain valuable design, fabrication and production experience over the course of our twelve (12) show season. All positions are $500 per week, plus housing. Health benefits are also available. These are twelve months contracts, beginning in June, 2026, with a possible one-year extension. LIGHTING DESIGN INTERN will complete up to five (5) lighting designs per season. Will also assist with lighting, sound, video, SFX, and maintenance for three venues including a traditional proscenium and two flexible spaces. Equipment/Software includes: ETC Consoles, QLab, Digital Cyc, Vectorworks, Lightwright and Photoshop.

SCENIC DESIGN INTERN under the supervision of the Resident Scenic Designer, will build their portfolio, developing, rendering, drafting, painting, design and props skills while working in three venues: beautiful 1930s proscenium house, state-of-the-art arena theatre, and intimate studio space.
